Bill
and
Beth
Rice
have been the proud owners of Pinckletink Chimney Service since founding it in 1999.
Bill
retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1993 and operated a chimney service company in
Long Island
,
NY
before returning home to
Maine
in 1998. He and
Beth
then began servicing the needs of one of the heating capitals of the Northeast –
Western Maine
. It has been a wonderful experience for both of them.
It is not just meeting and getting to know the nicest people, their customers, that they love.
Bill
and
Beth
provide a service that really matters. Their customers’ safety is their top concern. These things make their chosen profession fun and rewarding for them.
“We want to be our customers’ "Sweeps for Life,” says
Beth
. This means they hope to “adopt” each customer and care for their heating concerns for life, making regularly scheduled service visits, and correcting chimney problems as they arise.
Bill
has always dedicated himself to his profession, being the first Certified Chimney Sweep in
Western Maine
. He is also on the founding board of the Maine Association of Chimney Sweeping Professionals.
Bill
and
Beth
are also active members of the National Chimney Sweep Guild and the Massachusetts Chimney Sweep Guild.
And they wish to share with you the story of the
Pinkletink.
